My Philosophy
Physical therapy is an active participation endeavor for both the therapist and the patient. My philosophy has always been to place the patient first. I accomplish this by listening to your needs, setting goals with you, and developing a treatment plan to accomplish those goals.
My treatment approach combines education, manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, and motor control training. I am proud to tell people I am a physical therapist and I make every effort to bring the best care to my patients. I take great pride in my work, and will strive to earn your trust. You have the right to choose your healthcare providers, and I want to be on your team.
My Background
I earned my Master’s degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Iowa in 1998. After graduation, I earned an advanced certification in Manual Therapy from the University of St Augustine. I owned and operated Iowa City Physical Therapy, and after 5 years, decided I needed a change to focus more on the things I love — patient care and my family.
I treat general orthopedics, from injured athletes working to return to sport, to patients needing post-operative rehab and individuals with neck or low back pain. I have developed a niche in the area, working with patients who have complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS). When not at work, I enjoy spending time with my wife and 2 children as well as hunting, fishing, and being active.
